San Antonio Breast Cancer Review 2011

PURPOSE
This program, based on data presented at the San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium 2011, is designed to provide state of the art information on experimental biology, etiology, prevention, diagnosis & therapy of breast cancer/premalignant breast disease to an audience of academic and private physicians and researchers involved in medical, surgical, GYN and radiation therapy, as well as other appropriate health care professionals.


OBJECTIVES
At the conclusion of this learning activity the participants should be able to:

• Identify new therapies available in breast cancer
• Determine length of hormonal treatments in the adjuvant setting
• Determine which patients with DCIS need radiation
• Identify patients who will benefit from the new treatments in advanced/metastatic disease
• Determine the role for adjuvant therapy
• Determine the importance of genomics.
• Determine whether all patients need axillary dissection
• Identify who needs adjuvant, hormonal  or targeted therapy
• Identify new combination therapy for metastatic disease
